Henry Placenti was a staff member of
the Instructional Media Center (IMC) at California State
University, Fresno, 1972 to 1978. Since 1978 he has been employed
in the School of Education & Human Development (SOEHD). Originally from Bakersfield,
California, the city of Cal State Bakersfield, he received an AA from Bakersfield Community
College in 1971, and a BA from California
State University, Fresno in
1974. He has received special certificates on Technology Training
from different prestigious companies (ie -- Apple Company and MECC Software Company ).
Originally, Henry was involved with supplying instructional materials and equipment to faculty, staff and students in the School of Education & Human Development. Some of the areas responsibilities were: Reading, Diagnositc Material for Special Education, Counseling Center, Curriculum Development, Development and Training of the Use of Audio Visual Equipment and Materials.
Now, Henry spends much of his time assisting faculty, staff, and students in the use of computers and software each busy and demanding academic year for the School of Education & Human Development (SOEHD); manages to keep one step ahead of his course requirements for the masters in technology; and keeps pace with his fast moving family. COMM 165: Computer Applications in Communications, taught by Dr. John Cagle, provides an introduction to the use of computers in the communication professions in the modern world. Students will get "hands on" experience using microcomputers for word processing, database management, spreadsheets, presentation visuals, electronic mail, and using the Internet ( including development of image maps with FrontPage, PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Excel presentations, Using Scanned/Web pictures presentation and Final Project ). Selected software for communication applications will be examined. |
