Alumni Profile: Nicole Farias
Nicole Farias, an advertising executive at
KSEE 24 in Fresno, graduated from Fresno State in the spring of
2005.
Farias’ responsibilities at KSEE
24 consist of bringing in and maintaining new business with
other clients. Farias would like to eventually build more
business and move up in the industry, while remaining with KSEE
24 in the years to come. One of her long term goals is to
eventually become a senior account executive.
Farias feels that the classes at
Fresno State prepared her the most for her future endeavors and
attributes her internship experience to her success.
“I learned the most during my
internship,” Farias said. “It helped me get my way in the door.”
When recognizing some of the
staff that helped Farias get to where she is now, she names
Betsy Hays. “She gave us the tools to find the best internship
that matches best with our personalities and what we wanted in a
career,” Farias said.
Advice that Farias gives
soon-to-be graduates is to try to as many internships as
possible because people could even get offered a job from it.
Farias supports the start of a
MCJ alumni chapter and the opportunities it will provide for
alumni to stay connected to their alma mater. She also would
like to stay involved and informed about the school’s
happenings.
“I would like an alumni
association to offer communication about events, networking and
social affairs,” Farias said. “Knowing more about the
University’s MCJ students would be nice too.”
