"Paws of the
Past" Alumni Event Held May 12
Jazz music, live performances,
delectable food and wine kicked off the new MCJ Alumni and
Friends Chapter with style at the public relations campaigns
class “Paws of the Past” event.
The public relations
class, MCJ 159, held the event on Friday, May 12. MCJ alumni,
faculty, and friends of the department had a chance to reconnect
while enjoying a plethora of entertainment during their stroll
down memory lane on the Fresno Sate campus.
There were tours of
the Collegian newspaper, the television studio, and the radio
station, KFSR, which began the event with a live remote of
swinging jazz music.
The Fresno State
Guitar professor, Corey Whitehead and a guitar student played as
well as the band, the Super Lucky Catz. The Fresno State
Portable Dance Troupe performed apiece that was recently
selected for the National College Dance Festival in Washington,
DC. On display were examples of work done by MCJ students
throughout the school year. The free event also featured MCJ
major athletes.
The public relations
class that put on the event began the planning process at the
beginning of the spring semester and worked diligently up to the
day of the event.
“We put so much work
into this event not only because it’s for a class, but because
we’re excited to have an alumni chapter of our own,” said public
relations major Jennifer Holt. “We want to celebrate all the
opportunists it will bring.”
“Paws of the Past”:
marks the beginning of what is to come of the new MCJ Alumni and
Friends Chapter. More events and mixers will ensue now that the
chapter has taken flight. |
