This can orient you to the many buildings on the ranch: barn and cabin to the left, accessed from the back drive way; the carport at the foot of the back driveway and the shop off to its left; the main house off to the right and back up the front drive. We built the house off the hill top to keep out of the wind, but a 2 minute walk will net you a spectacular view out towards the Pacific.

The Main house (with granny flat shaded); the plan may not be to scale, but you can get a good idea of the lay-out. The view is to the top (east) out over the avocado grove.

This map of Valley Center, a great community, stays with the ranch. And so does our "tech support" if you want to know where the water lines go :-)

We called it "Rancho Cerro Rojo" for the "Pink Mountain" just to our north. Actually it is "Mount Gregory" on the US Geographical Survey, a mountain upon which the bandits were supposed to have had their camp and lookout to swoop down on the stage to Pala, just 6 miles north of us. But still, in about 6 minutes you can be at the I-15, in about 20 you can be in either Escondido or Temecula, you can be in Pala or Pauma Valley, at school in Valley Center, in 40 minutes you can be surfing or visiting the Wild Animal Park, in about an hour you can be on Mount Palomar looking down your chimney from Boucher Hill Lookout. In a little more than that you can be in the Anza-Borrego desert or at the baseball game in San Diego.

And in about 3 hours you an be at the Los Angeles airport, symphony or UCLA.

Closer, within about an hour and a half, are 5 California Missions, at least 6 casinos, Old Town San Diego, the world-famous San Diego Zoo and Seaworld, along with several marinas.

But directions home from the intersection of Interstate 15 and California 76 (=Pala Road) are easy.
