Molar Volume at STP
Example: What is the volume of one mole of gas at Standard Temperature and Pressure (STP)?

PV=nRT; V=nRT/P

STP is 0oC or 273 K and 1 atmosphere.
Remember to convert temperatures to kelvins and pressures to atmospheres. Volume will be in liters.

22.4 liters/mole at STP is a useful conversion value to remember and can save time on problems involving moles and volumes. 22.4 L would fit in a cube 28.2 cm on a side and is about 5.3 gallons.
