You may leave a "Comment" in any of the "Posts" on the Pi Kappa Tau Forum. Anyone visiting the Forum blog may do so.
You will see at the bottom of each post a line such as this:
POSTED BY TeamMemberName AT xx:xx PM | 1 COMMENTS
Simply click on Comments and a window opens to enable anyone to put a comment attached to the Post. There is an easy to use Leave Your Comment box in which you enter your message--the text scrolls to enable more text than would fit into the visible space.
The identity of the person needs to be checked. Team Members for the Pi Kap Forum blog and other people who have Google Groups UserIDs and Passwords can enter this information, or a person may select Anonymous. If you select Anonymous, please put your name in the text of the Comment so we will know who you are.
The final step for authenication (that is--a tool to keep automated SPAM out of the Forum). You will see a string of letters and a little box in which to type these letters called word verification. Having done so, you click on the Login and Publish box.
It does takes a few minutes for the Blog to get your new Comment on the website. Check back in about an hour (however, it may only take a few minutes). There is not immediate feedback that you were successful, so don't assume the comment posting failed and that you need to enter another one....
First: you must first register as a Team Member in order for you to create a new Post--good for new topics, announcements, etc.! Contact John Cagle (johnca@csufresno.edu) who will arrange for an invitation to be sent via email to you by Google Groups, our host. Google recently acquired Blogger.com.
Second: follow the instructions to register. Select New Blogger and follow the prompts. Your UserID will be your normal email address, but your password may be anything.
Third: To post on the Forum, you first log in on the Blogger.com homepage:
http://www.blogger.com/
and click on the "Sign in to Blogger" at upper right corner.
[Note: You can turn on the "remember my log-in" to make this part easier in the
future.]
Enter your Log-In Name and your Password.
The first webpage you see upon logging in is called Dashboard, giving various information, instructions, and so forth for members of Blogger. Pi Kappa Tau Forum should be immediately below the Dashboard title under the word Blogs. In the right hand column you will see a link to Blogger Help--you will find this information helpful so you might read it--especially if the instructions below don't seem to be working for you.
[Note: Do not click on Create a Blog because that does something entirely different than enter into one of the blogs you have a membership in. If you want to create a personal blog for yourself--such as a blog for your own family to use or perhaps your friends in Lawn Bowls--then do so. You keep your UserID and Password in all your blogging activities.]
You should see and click on "Pi Kappa Tau Forum."
This link takes you to the webpage that is used to manage the Pi Kap Forum
itself.
There is a blue box with "Create new post" in it.
Click on that
and you'll get a pop-up window to enter your message.
Give the message a Title.
Enter the message.
Note: You can insert a photograph if you have one you'd like to share.
Click on "Publish Post" when finished.
