Final Examination

The COMM 142 Final Examination will be at the scheduled time and place: Wednesday May 19th from 11-1 in SA-26.  The examination format is essay, so please bring a pen and a blue book or two. Each student will write three 40-minute essays.

The questions will cover these areas:

Textual Criticism
Narratives and Stories as Arguments
Ideological Criticism
Rhetoric & Criticism of Social Movements
Contemporary Criticism

In each essay, you will be expected to write effective essays displaying your erudition and understanding.

Course Description:
COMMUNICATION CRITICISM:

Examination of historical and contemporary communication events using principles of critical evaluation from rhetorical, artistic, and media perspectives. Written papers and presentations of analyses utilizing critical principles from these perspectives.

Hacker, Diana.  A Pocket Style Manual.  5th ed.  Boston:  Bedford/St. Martins, 2008.
