HIST 242: Early Modern Europe
Spring 2003
Course Announcements
December 17, 2002
Welcome! If you have made it to this page, it means you received my email and have decided to take an early peak at our class. I would like to take this opportunity to give you the "heads up" about a couple of things that will make this class go smoother for you:
First, I recommend that, if you have decided to purchase the required texts instead of borrowing them, you search for them on the internet as soon as possible. I have done some quick research, and know for a fact that there are some copies floating around at 50-60% discount. I am partial to half.com, and this is where I found many of the books for as little as $5.00. This, however, is not an advertisement - I am simply functioning under the "I too was a broke grad student" syndrome.
My second recommendation is that, if you are not familiar with the Early Modern Period, you take some time over the break to read up on the subject. You will be given a week during the actual semester to catch up, but starting early will be to your advantage. Take a look at the Recommended Textbooks page.
One last thing: if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email, call, or visit me. It will be my pleasure to meet you and answer your questions.
Have a great break!
