Math 100. Exploring Mathematics. Spring 2008.
Project 1: Interpreting test scores
Part 1 (group).
- (In class.) Form groups of 3-5 people and exchange emails/phones.
- Decide when all of you can meet to work on this part. Decide whether you all will watch the video (see below) before or during the meeting.
- Watch this video (http://items.education.ucsb.edu/modules/mod1/loader.html).
- Working in groups, complete this quiz. Turn in only one copy of the quiz with answers. You should disscuss your answers and
explanations and try to come to a consensus within your group. However, if after a discussion you still disagree, you may submit different answers. However, all answers
must be given together. For example, your answers may look like this:
1. (c)
2. Ashley, Beth, Chris: (a). Daniel: (d)
3. (b)
etc.
Note: submitting just one copy of the quiz sheet shows that you worked as a group on this quiz.
Please remember to put the names of all members or your group on your paper. If you agree on all answers, all members of the group will receive the same grade. In case
of different answers, you will receive different grades depending on correctness.
Part 2 (individual).
Solve these problems individually. While you may work with your classmates on this part, each of you should submit their own
solutions.
