The Goals of the
California Curriculum
Correlating Council
The 4Cs exists to achieve several broad purposes:
- To serve as an umbrella organization for
all educational disciplines, providing an exchange of information
and experience among all state education organizations and professional
associations.
- To take positions on curricular and instructional
issues which affect the quality of education offered to students
in the schools of California and disseminate these positions
to all concernecd persons.
- To facilitate communication and cooperation
among the state subject matter organizations and state agencies
which affect instructional policy.
- To contribute to unity among educators, leading
toward professional consensus on educational progress as it may
be achieved through curricular and instructional improvement.
- To provide a positive influence on general
public understanding of instructional issues in the schools and
for preferable solutions to curricular and teaching problems.
- To develop educational goals, methods of
evaluation and procedures for accountability.
