The Whitehead Question
Broadly speaking, my research involves finding an answer to the following question:
Is every subcomplex of an aspherical
two-dimensional CW complex also aspherical?
This question is known as the Whitehead Question after the 20th century mathematician J.H.C. Whitehead who first posed the question.
